The Hood Chef has been feeding New York City, and is now ready to spread his unique flavor to the rest of the country.
My first encounter with this Hip-Hop savant was last spring at one of the many showcases around the city, even then he stood out. He was on the stage with the artist to support the show. As usual he had a presence that made him stand out.
Little did I know that the man I met that night would make such huge strides. Starting the summer off with a series of Barbeques, that I unfortunately missed. He seemed to rise in notoriety rapidly. Savito, as he is also known, has a popular YouTube series which he
started in 2007, which has matured and grown along with him.
This seemingly culminated into the rapid success of his recently opened restaurant in Brooklyn called the Funhouse Food Spot.
Nope, that wasn’t enough. Savito wants to takeover the world. Starting a countrywide food tour with the ever popular DJ Laser accompanying him. He may of just kicked off the modern day, Hip-Hop heavy, food inspired “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure,” minus the time travel and bad clothing.

As Hood Chef and DJ Laser travel across the country, they are going to share what NYC has enjoyed. Pop-Up barbeques, restaurant takeovers and live performances. If the celebrity fans and friends of this duo are any indication, the shows may come close to rivaling the food and fun.
This adventure will be shared via multiple social networking sites and the trip will cumulate with their eventual return to NYC, where the documentary showcasing the exodus across the country will be shared with the food and music élite of New York City.
If you are lucky enough to be in or near one of the many cities they are travelling to, come out and enjoy. While doing so become part of a unique and new movement.
You will never know what to expect and who you may see. Wait. I digress, you can always expect three things food, fun and music. Besides that, only expect the unexpected.
