This was something to watch. You had the true meaning of "Unity in the Community".
Like they said ' They say it could not be done, but it was and there was no problems"
Brownsville did it the way "JACCO" wanted it done.

Sounds like a fabulous way to spend an evening. Made me remember my college days. We all need somewhere we can just 'chill out' sometimes. Really enjoy your writings. I feel like I am there. I even have a taste for barbecue . I don't know the music, but I get a sense of the mood , the atmosphere from your article. Definitely a characteristic of a good writer. Keep up the good work

The focus was not on THEM but on their style as a newly emerging genre. Hate it or love it its still relevant to Hip-Hop and this was not intended to be a top rapper list just a break down of the history including subgenres. There was no way to cover every influential rapper and this more serves as a brief guide for people who do not have the inside track of the influence of the genre. Thank you for taking the time to read, much appreciated and please know that I am very aware of who is new and representing the genre.

I think it both...of course lyrics are perception but ultimately IMO it was people using their talent and fame to further their careers. Both your and my understanding of the lyrics are pretty parallel IMO (thanks for reading BTW :)

I thought "Ring Ring Ring (Ha Ha Hey)" was just a song about getting harassed with wack demo tapes since they blew up with "3 Feet High & Rising" and people recognized them out in New York now? I guess it was about both... *Shrug*

You have done something unusual; you understand the fear many black mothers develop around the time their son reaches his teen years. We have to teach our sons to do their best and strive to achieve, but be careful because they are going to have to fight that stereotypical image America has of the black man every where they go. No matter how well you do, you are still going to be judged by the color of your skin, the clothes you wear, the way you wear your hair. You have to not let it get to you, not let it anger you, not let it get you in trouble. This puts pressure on the whole family.
